The goal of the workshop is to have both business and IT people learn about the hidden traps that IT organizations fall into, and how to get around those traps to dramatically improve the way that IT organizations perform. Part of that performance increase comes from self-awareness for the IT people, and another part comes from a different perception of IT on the part of the business people who work with IT. My typical workshop size is 20 people, optimally made up of 10 IT people and 10 business people. Background

For a couple of years now, I've been giving a presentation to various IT and business groups on the "Secrets of IT." Based on overwhelmingly positive feedback, I've built on the presentation material to put together a one-day workshop for IT and business people to help them communicate and work together better.

If you've seen my presentation at the STC meeting, the SIM meeting, the UGA Executive MBA program, or the keynote at the University System of Georgia Annual Computing Conference, then you already know a lot of the concepts I'll use. Now I've taken an updated version of that presentation and added group exercises at various points throughout the day.
