Most problems in IT organizations aren't technical – they're communication issues between IT people and their business customers. Misunderstandings and inappropriate user expectations cause more IT failures than technology does.

This presentation uses common sense physical analogies to communicate the challenges facing IT, and explains why those challenges are so misunderstood by people outside the technology organization. It reveals the hidden traps into which IT organizations fall, and gives you a way to avoid the traps and make your use of Information Technology more effective.

I'll be happy to come to your company's location anywhere in the continental United States¹ and do a one-hour or two-hour version of the "Take the Magic Out of Information Technology" presentation. The presentation is less interactive and participative than the workshop. But the presentation is suitable for larger audiences, and it will identify the primary issues that prevent most IT and business people from working together, thus laying the foundation for a more successful IT relationship going forward.

The presentation fee is $2000² no matter how many people attend (but be sure to look at footnote 2 below if you're on a tight budget), and I'll also ask you to reimburse me for any travel expenses if you're outside Atlanta. All in all, this is a pretty small investment for the improvement you can get in the relationship between business people and IT people.

The presentation is most effective when the audience is a 50-50 mix of business people and IT people.
